2007 - 2008 Membership Rates
2007 Pre-Season Membership: Available December 1, 2006 until March 31, 2007. Not valid until April 1, 2007. Membership, including trail pass, $140.00 (includes GST). The membership is valid until March 31, 2008
NOTE: Multiple membership purchase discount available to immediate family members living at the same address. Designed for couples and their children under 18 years of age.
1st membership full rate.
2nd membership 10% discount.
3rd and subsequent membership 20% discount.
NOTE: OFATV reserves the right to ask for proof of residency.
Comment: To purchase your 2007 -2008 membership / trail pass you can either fill out and send your application with your cheque to Talbot Trail ATV Club Inc. or you can send it to the OFATV head office, once received and processed you will receive your trail pass within a week approx. Please note, depending on the time of year there may be a back log in processing your membership form and receiving your package by mail.

Q. How is the cost of the yearly trail pass set?
The yearly trail pass rate is set by the OFATV Head Office – Executive Team, not by the local clubs.
Q. How is the $140.00 used by the OFATV organization as a whole?
The membership rate of $140.00 is broken up into three (3) equal portions of 33%.
The first portion of 33% goes towards the insurance cost, the 3 rd party liability policy to protect all signed up landowners and OFATV members that are in good standings.
The second portion of 33% goes towards the operational costs of the OFATV head office.
The third portion of 33% goes back to the local club, to help in offsetting the operational costs of trail development and other club activities.
Q. Where & what does the trail pass membership allow me to ride?
The trail pass membership pass allows you to ride on any OFATV sanctioned trail system in the province of Ontario , where there is a local OFATV club operating in.
If you are not an OFATV member and you would like to ride the trails, you are required to purchase a temporary pass at a cost of $35.00 CDN.
The cost of $35.00 CDN for the temporary trail pass is used to allow a NON-OFATV member access to the trail system for a limited time period of up to 3 days depending on the area and club established policies for temporary passes.
Club Notification / Communication
Q. How does the member know what is going on in the club, if work schedules, family home schedule do not allow free time to come out to the monthly meetings.
The club generates a monthly newsletter detailing all current activities that are taking place in the weeks / months ahead. In addition to event summaries of forwarded to all club members to ensure flow of communication at all times. The club makes every effort to notify all club members well in advance of the scheduled activities via news letters, emails and phone calls. . There may be occasions where activities come up and time constraints make it impossible to notify everyone.
All club members also receive via email and or by mail an updated contact list with all names and numbers of every club member every quarter approximately.
Q. What type of activities does the club get involved with on a local level and provincial level?
On a local club level, we get involved in the following activities:
- Charity fund raising activities for local hospitals, support organizations.
- Club activities, monthly ride events.
- Dealer members OPEN houses, demo days, other special events that the various dealers put on throughout the year.
- Christmas parades organized by local service groups. St Thomas and Fingal Optimist clubs.
- Working closely with local townships, OPP detachments, MNR and other governing bodies in our local surrounding area.
- Participate in organized environmental clean up activities in various areas throughout our area.
On a provincial level, we get involved with other OFATV clubs in the following activities:
- Annual General Meeting events, rides, etc.
- Fund Raising activities for Prostate research, cancer society events, Mike Holmes Foundation.
- Winter ATV Summit events.
- OFATV Raffles Draw. Trail System UPDATE
With the help of land owners, farmers, TTATV Club has been to developed several different locations of trails that offer beginners, intermediate and advance trails, however they are not connected together as of yet, hence the business plan. In total, we have approximately 50 Km’s of trails that are located throughout the St Thomas, Talbotville, Port Stanley, Belmont and surrounding area.
NOTE: That each of these areas, TTATV Club is still working on developing new additional trails to expand the specific location even further, while at the same time working on developing a trail loop system that will connect two locations together.
This takes time and lots of collective resources to make things happen, when planning, communicating with land owners, townships and other governing bodies regarding the proposed trail loop system that is entirely on private land the majority of the time.
As we continue the work in the development of the first official trail system linking two of the above stated locations together. Creating a sanctioned trail that will grow from the initial loop and expand further out in our township / county. Eventually the efforts of the club members will pay off in creating a large trail system that will benefit everyone economically (the ATV rider, local business and the surrounding communities).
Q. How long are the trails open for during the year?
The trails that we have developed, we try to keep open year round, the only time (s) that we may close some or all of the trails for specific period time is due to the following scenarios:
- Hunting season (black powder, bow and arrow.
- Planting of crops and harvesting of crops (heavy farm equipment activity).
- Wet weather conditions, depending on the weather forecast the trails are closed, to allow the precipitation to either soak up or freeze depending on the season that we are in at the time.
- Severe weather conditions that pass through the area causing damage to the trail system, which in turn requires that the trail maintenance team goes out and clears / removes the hazard in specific trail area.
Note: Part of the trail development initiative, the club completes regular trail inspections looking for issues before they turn into problems for everyone. This is done by filling out the trail inspection sheet after the ride, documenting any issues that you have discovered while out riding the trail. The filled out form is then submitted back to the trail development team for review and planning of corrective actions if need be.
